when love takes you in
While looking for a particular song (another by Steven Curtis Chapman), I found this long-ago favorite. This song so perfectly sums up the heart behind adoption.

"This book still whispers to me. It follows me and lingers like a fragrance ... a sweet, holy haunting." --Nancy Anderson
"I read A Whisper in Winter like I eat a bag of little Dove chocolates--slowly, savoring each bite. Each year, I read dozens of books, but it is rare that a book captures my heart in the way that this book did." --L. J. Seaborg
"I knew by the title and the forward that this was going to be a good book to read. What I didn't know is that it would open my mind and my heart and cause me to be more aware of God in my life ... He's been beside me whispering all along." --Nancy Henry

I still remember the exact moment I first saw this video. It was at a SCC concert; he played this song (and the video) right before intermission.
I believe the lights came up on a roomful of bawling people. I don't think anyone moved for 5 minutes unless they were begging a tissue from their neighbor.
I think his (and Mary Beth's) sweet hearts make this week's tragedy all the more hard to take.
Thanks for sharing that.... what a beautiful song, it touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes..
We are considering adoption after years of infertility and after listening to those words my husband and I were really moved
