new look
We're still working out the kinks with Foxfire, but if you have Internet Explorer, you can see the new site in its entirety. My blogging friend, Darlene (from Blogger, Can You Spare a Dime?) has been working on my new look all day.
So ... what do you think?

Shan,
I think it is beautiful! I just might have Darlene make something for me!
I don't remember you asking my permission to use my likeness for the woman.... we will have to talk about that. :)
I had a great time with you and Dave last night, we will have to get together more often. Why is it that we don't?
One reason only, you silly girl. You're terrified of driving your sparkly blue car down our dusty driveway. They WASH, you know!!! :)
Yes, I'll have to jump all over Darlene for using a picture of you and not getting your permission first. That was taken back when you were living on a farm in Iowa, right? And if I remember correctly, a tornado was coming across the other side of the field, but you didn't care because you'd just come from having a root canal and the percoset was still raging through your system, and Hank, the farm hand, had to dash out and snatch you out of the twister's path and drag your limp, rag doll body back to the storm cellar ... or maybe I'm thinking of someone else ...
Thanks, Steve and Michael!
Wow! Uncluttered, neat, clean, and most pleasing to the eye. Fortunately, the blogger has not changed so the literary beauty of the blog posts will continue.
Shannon, I wish you could be a literary stylist for several English Bible translation teams. We'd have better Bibles to read. (I think Luci Shaw helped with one translation, perhaps The Message.)
Oooohhh, I LIKE your memory... what happened to Hank? Was as hunky as you make him out to be? The percocet must have clouded my memory!
So, you can remember Hank but you can't remember the blue Dodge van that had a table and sink and stove in it? The one that we took a vacation in? Hmmmm
Well, I guess that washing the car isn't too bad, it would be well worth it if it meant playing cards with you, spending time the family and seeing how the farm life is! You could see my gardening skills, you just might benefit from them, oh how I crack myself up sometimes.
Um, noooo, Nance. Hank was the 96-year old, toothless, one-eyed, snuff-chewing farm hand. He dragged you back to the barn with his one good arm and plopped you down on a bale of hay ... then went back to what he'd been doing before he spotted you out in the field: cleaning his ears with the pokey end of a hoe.
As I recall, you pushed Hank for weeks to try and get him to take you to a movie in town, but he wasn't interested.
That was SOME dose of percoset you got, girl.
Wayne, thank you so much for your kind words. As you can tell from my comments above, I should probably not ever be trusted with something as serious as a Bible translation. :)
Hey, that one eye was the most beautiful green I had ever seen, green as the hills of Ireland and that one arm was as big as one of Hulk Hogan's arms.
It sure was amazing what he could do with a tine from a pitch fork and not get hurt. I am still reeling from the hurt of rejection. That is why I had to move from Iowa to the different landscape of Western Washington, I can't bring myself to go to the wheat fields in Eastern Washington, brings back all the hurt.
Thanks for the credit, I think we're 90% there now. By the way, did you notice I changed back to What Would Jesus Blog? It was my original name and I went back to it this spring. But Blogger Can You Spare a Dime is just fine too. That woman in the field makes me emotional.
Shannon
Very nice! I love the picture, the quote and the swirly font. It is all effective and sets the mood. =)
Nice place ya got here!

Cool new look!!
You and Nancy crack me up.
By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Great new look Shannon.
Funny thing, you're upgrading while my computer just left for the doctor. I'm stealing a minute on my son's computer while he's in the bathroom. (Hope he's in there a while!)
I may not be able to blog/read blogs much this weekend but at least I still have some Spicy Blueberry Butter.
he's back, I'm out
dash the percoset, I'm wondering what you served Nancy last night, over the card game.... you girls are wild..... makes real life such a drag.. Norma
It looks great your blog design is awesome!
Shannon, Very bright, very clean, and very fresh. It makes me think of laundry...not doing it per se...just think about it.

Shannon - the new look is so great. The masthead catches the eye and gives the visual impact of your name....and captures the freeness (word?) of your writing! I'll work on not coveting your new look. Blessings to you always and I'm never quite sure who wins between you and Nancy.

That story below this one made me cry too. That's how it should be.

Beautiful, but then, again, I've never seen anything that Darlene does that ISN'T beautiful!
I like your new look I really do. It's always nice to see something fresh. God Bless you Shannon!
